WC Dillon and Co. a family business was founded in 1937 as a supplier of cable tensioning products, which were primarily marketed to the US armed forces. Having established a patent for a dynamometer force measuring device, the company grew rapidly during the major wartime periods of the twentieth century. Ownership changed in the early 1980s, when WC Dillon's manufacturing operations were integrated with those of Santa Rosa, CA based scale manufacturer National Controls Inc. (NCI), a division of Scope Inc. The Dillon brand was maintained. Dillon was acquired by Avery Weigh-Tronix, LLC (www.wtxweb.com) in 1986. Dillon's primary manufacturing facility was relocated to Fairmont, MN in 1988.
