The company
Founded by Jim Oakley, an accomplished design engineer, in 1977, Mecmesin remains a privately owned company, based in Slinfold, West Sussex, UK, which has expanded worldwide, with regional offices in the US, China, Thailand and France.
In addition, we have a global network of distributors in more than 50 countries able to provide technical expertise and after-sales support to customers locally.
The focus of the company has always been to provide high quality test solutions, which are an affordable alternative to the many higher-priced systems available, enabling small and large businesses alike to undertake quality control checks on their products without compromising on precision and accuracy. The rugged design of these systems mean they can withstand tough factory conditions and perform tests at the point of production rather than having to use expensive laboratories to ensure consistent manufacture.
These high capacity self-tightening wedge grips are designed to ensure quick and easy clamping of a wide variety of components and materials. Their capstan action speedily loads the sample securely in the jaws prior to the test. The wedge grips come with 30mm x 45mm cross-hatch jaw faces maximizing the clamping force and reducing slippage.
The 3-point bend fixture is ideal for performing a variety of flexible tests up to 10kN capacity. It includes two lower support anvils, which are adjustable between 20 -292mm (0.79" - 11.5") and one upper center loading anvil to accommodate different sized samples. The support beam is graduated length ways in metric and imperial units for accurate positioning of the anvils. Standard anvil radius is 5mm (0.197").
These small, lightweight wedge grips are ideal for tensile testing below 500N. A spring-loaded lever ensures the serrated jaws are easy to open for fast securing and release of samples. As load is applied the wedge action of the jaws ensures the sample is held rigidly without slippage. Jaw width is either 16mm or 25mm (200N) capacity.
This wedge grip is ideal for tensile testing below 5000N of flat and rigid materials including plastics, rubber and light metals. A spring-loaded lever ensures the serrated jaws are easy to open for fast loading and release of samples up to 25mm wide and 8mm thick. As load is applied the wedge action of the jaws ensures the sample is held rigidly without slippage.
The Advanced Force & Torque Indicator works in conjunction with Mecmesin 'SMART' sensor and can be used handheld or fixed to a test jig for optimum measurement performance.
Cable Cam Grips are designed for holding insulated cables and wire up to 6mm (0.24") in diameter and are usually fixed to the base of a Mecmesin test stand. The sample is secured by the cam, which self-tightens as load is applied and spreads the load evenly, minimising slippage during testing. Cable Cam Grips are available with either smooth or serrated cams. They are commonly used with a "Wedge Grip" or "Rotating Crimp Receptacle" to test crimp terminals in accordance with BS 5G 178-1 and other international standards.
The CRC tester from Mecmesin, is a highly accurate tester, capable of measuring both the security and accessibility of child-resistant closures. The 'push' and 'twist' action used to open a CRC closure is shown clearly on two dedicated displays for easy identification of both force and torque values.
It is with excitement that I let you know that Chatillon has
just released a brand new line of force gauges! These new force gauges offer
quite a few enhancements to the previous generation, including an industry
first - Wireless Bluetooth communications! This means that there are no more
wires to worry about, and you are allowed more freedom with placement of gauges
and pc's.
As you may know, C.S.C. carries a large stock of Chatillon force gauges. With
the new product line being released, we need to liquidate our inventory to make
room for the new gauges. In order to do this, we are offering a 15% discount on
all current inventory. Even with the discount, you can be assured that you will
still receive full ISO17025 Accredited Calibration, full manufacturers
warranty, and the industry leading support you expect from C.S.C. Force
Measurement. Please take a look at the Clearance Section to see our current inventory specials.
